Losing a dog

I wrote this in 2005 when I was 14.

Now Jazz and the puppies are gone,
That ghastly, evil grim reaper has won,
Jazz and her puppies into darkness they fell,
Like a huge, terrifying, deep, dark well.

I remember Jazz as a cute puppy,
Small and increasingly fluffy,
She was so fast and loved to play,
But know she seems so far away.

Jazz and her puppies will never see the light,
But with Jazz’s spirit they will fight,
She loved to pull the rig along,
She never ever did anything wrong.

Three have left us in one year,
For all of them we have shed a tear,
We hope this is one big nightmare,
It’s hard to believe she just lays there.

We all know Ben will miss her most,
He’ll remember playing with her on the coast,
Why did Jazz and the puppies have to go?
It now, will always fill us with sorrow.
